Bloggers, photographers, writers, celebrities and fashion lovers gathered in Auckland for the New Zealand Fashion Festival, from February 24 - March 4th. Jam-packed with some of fashion’s biggest names, they mixed and mingled and watched the stunning designs take to the runway.

nzgirl’s very own Jenene held her seminar on Monday night to kick off the week of seminars! An inspiration for many wannabe magazine editors, she gave some valuable insight about how to succeed in the industry. Day one of the Designer Garage Sale saw lots of lovely nzgirls wear their favourite items of clothing in the nzgirl photo-booth. And what a fashionable bunch they all were!

While the weatherman promised a bomb, the only thing going off in Auckland central on Saturday March 3rd was the shopping, fashion shows and fabulously dressed Kiwi’s celebrating the inaugural Fashion in the BIG little City event.With over 100 retailers on board with major discounts, special offers, spot prizes and in-store events, plus seven free runway shows all held undercover in the bustling Darby Street, Lorne Street and Britomart areas, there was plenty of fashion and fun for everyone!

New Zealand Fashion Festival’s aim was to support local talent by providing a week of runway shows and seminars for the public.

With the headline making fashion flash mob, Viva’s First Light and the celebrity filled red-carpet opening party, the week started off in spectacular style. 

Viva Presents First Light, in partnership with Auckland’s BIG little City, was the perfect opportunity to get dressed up, do a spot of shopping, and view key pieces from the new Autumn/Winter collections early on in the week. The High Street District was a vibrant haven for fashion enthusiasts with lots of shopping, food, wine and live music.

Keep an eye out for the Perrier hostesses during the week who will be keeping you refreshed as you watch the evening collection shows, and at the Wrap Party at the Nathan Club on Saturday 3rd March.
